The hotel is a quirky collection of large houses with some eccentric internal layout. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with essentials, although more renovations are needed. The staff, from the General Manager to the Chambermaids, were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The location offers easy access to the coast and various attractions, but the dining experience was mixed.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were comfy and met our needs, although more renovations are required.
Service
9.0
The entire staff was very helpful and polite, especially the young waitress at breakfast. They made us feel welcome and went the extra mile.
Location
8.0
The location was fantastic, with great views of the coast and within walking distance to shops and attractions.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its ups and downs. While there was plenty of choice and good value, some dishes were not up to par.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers standard facilities for a comfortable stay.

7.0/10

The hotel has an old-worldly charm and character that we found acceptable, despite being in need of a refurbishment. While we enjoyed the free toiletries and excellent wifi, the rooms could use a total overhaul to match the prices charged. Clean windows to enjoy the sea views were missed, and the shower was full of limescale.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms, although okay, could benefit from a refurbishment. The old-worldly charm was nice, but clean windows and a limescale-free shower would have enhanced the experience.
Service
7.0
The staff was accommodating and helpful, making our stay pleasant overall. However, there was a slightly off-putting remark about booking through a discount site.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is ideal for theater visits and walks, being close to Leas Cliff Hall. The staff excelled, but the ongoing refurbishment and noise from scaffolding were drawbacks.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was satisfactory, with a good selection including cold meats, cheese, and vegetables. However, some confusion about breakfast not being included was noted.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers useful facilities like room service, dry cleaning, and housekeeping, along with a welcoming drink. However, the noisy scaffolding during the night was disruptive.

5.6/10

The hotel is tucked away at the end of the corridor, offering outdated rooms that lack comfort and proper maintenance, especially in the bathroom. On the positive side, the friendly and helpful service staff make up for some of the shortcomings. The location is great for easy access to the beach and nearby attractions, although the dining experience falls short with slow service and average quality meals.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were in poor condition with badly fitting windows, flaking paintwork, and uncomfortable beds. The bathroom had issues with the toilet and shower, overall giving a sense of being stuck in the past.
Service
7.0
The service staff were polite and helpful, but there were delays in table service despite friendly interactions. Room service and other amenities were efficient and accommodating.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is convenient for exploring the nearby beach and attractions, making it suitable for various activities and trips around the area.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was subpar with slow service and reheated meals, lacking in quality and variety. However, the Vienna Beef hot dogs stood out as a decent option.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers basic facilities, but there were no notable features that stood out. The value for money in terms of facilities may not align with the overall experience.
